With the release of our new Happy Harvest books, we picked up some new products to add to our website, so I thought I would give you a peek so you would know they are available! They all happen to be from the great ladies over at Hillcreek Designs! Click on any of the links to view or purchase them on our website. Here we go...
I made the sections on the little pumpkins in the book (shown below) by using a natural-looking
Normandy Linen Thread. Each spool has approximately 63 yards of thread, and retails for $5.

The thread is used on the "sections" of the pumpkin, but just FYI, the bow on top is hemp cord. The hemp cord is a little stiffer and easier to curl, so I chose it for the top bow/vines.
This thread has a great country/primitive look. I KNOW I will be using it on many craft projects in the future. Besides quilts, I also like to do homemade cards, gift bags, and paper projects, and this little thread will be perfect! Speaking of homemade cards, here's our next product...

I probably went a little too far with the antiquing spray (okay, a LOT too far), but I was going for an aged, fall feel. What I love about these cards, is that they are tri-fold. You can either decorate all sides of the card, or you can use the fold to cover up that ugly stuff on the back! For instance, I used my sewing machine to do a buttonhole stitch around the applique pieces...

Ugh! So, to cover up that ugly stitching on the back, you just fold one flap over, and glue in place! (I only used a paperclip so I can demonstrate the card to people, but I will definitely be gluing for gift cards :o) Problem solved!

Here's a picture of the cards in the package... without all of that heavy antiquing spray, hehe.

The Simple Stitch Cards come in a package of 10 cards with 10 matching envelopes for $9.00. The finished, folded size is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". We currently have the "Husk" available, but I think we will be picking up the "Birch" very soon. Birch is slightly lighter. It's hard to tell through a picture, but there is a slight "speckling" of fibers through the paper, so it isn't just a flat cream color. I'm not sure I like flat white/cream ANYTHING... even with my fabric, I prefer a mottled or speckled base so it has more dimension. But, that's just me :o)
We also picked up some very neat large buttons from Hillcreek. I used one of these on the casserole carrier from the Happy Harvest book, and the same mocha button is included in the book button pack. But, I thought you might want some options, in case you go with different fabric choices! I also KNEW I would be using these in the future, because they are just too neat. They would be great for bags. Another thing I like about them is that they are aren't smooth. They have a bit of texture to them. These buttons measure 1 3/4", and retail at $2.90. Here's a link to the buttons on our website... Wooden Bear Buttons.

I plan on picking up more "crafty" products, and I will be sure to keep you posted when we get more!
